[livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup and I went on our annual roadtrip a couple months early.

Then I've been doing stuff for the county historical society and I'm hip deep in historic lingerie for the up coming event "Tea, Crochet, and Lingerie".

So since I last posted [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup and have finished the Epic Road Trip of 2012. It is getting to be so epic I think Bards will compose Sagas about it.

[livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil left to go hiking this morning. He won't be back till saturday. [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup is leaving tonight to go visit her brother in Florida for two weeks. This means I'm home alone and bored. There will be spamage here just as a warning. Beware the bored Maeve.
[livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup and I went and saw Twilight on Sunday. I was prepared to hate it but strangely found myself liking it. I will probably in the next week or so drag [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil to see it. (I have yet to read the books.)

I had issues though and I will elaborate under here )

All in all I agree with [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's statement when the credits rolled,"That was some high quality crack."

Amish Joy!

Oct. 8th, 2008 10:44 pm
When I got home tonight, [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil accussed me of being into the Amish Joy Candy Bars again.(You know some times you feel like a nut and sometimes you feel like making a quilt.)

I had gone to the quilt store in Sherwood as I had heard, from one of the students in my quilt class, last night that the store would soon be closing. I went up there and indeed they are closing tomarrow, so if you had cash everything was 50% off. I had cash as my students paid me their materials fee last night. I got almost 12 yards of fabric and some bamboo/cotton batting for close to $60. One was a Beatrix Potter print. I have never read the books but I have recently watched the movie Miss Potter (and am in fact watching it again now before I send it back to Netflix tomarrow) and thought it cute and at half price a yard had to come home with me.=)

Then the Dragon's Mist Shire business meeting is held a block down and across the street from Mill End (another fabric store). I had a cupon for 25% off. I had a little fun and found Air Force fabric for a wall hanging for [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup, an Egyptian print for a wall hanging for [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil, and two Batman fabrics for me. One has the Tumbler. I will post pictures when they finish prewashing latter tonight.

This one I think I'll put with the other two.

Sorry about the dark pictures, I'll see if I can get better in the morning.

The Batman fabrics make me giddy. All in all I must agree with [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil, I have indeed been into the Amish Joy!! Heeheee!

53. Who is the friend you've had longest?
[livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup. This october we will have been friends 12 years. We met in college and have been good friends ever since.
On or daily phone call Miss Jedi Buttercup mentions that it is Andrew Llyod Webber night on American Idol. Now I don't like American Idol and don't watch unless forced by the afore mentioned Miss Buttercup. But I do like Broadway music and Lord Llyod Webber in particular. So I watch. (Well half of it because [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil and I were discussing the evils of the Oregon Potter's Association for the first half. More on that latter.) I take the computer upstairs with me (where we have the TV with the antanea) and proceed to watch the preformances I missed on YouTube. I think I must download that version of "Think of Me." *headdesk*
It started thursday when [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil and I had dinner with my grandparents. Always an interesting time.

Friday is [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil's day off (he works 4 ten hour days) so he went to the SCA demo with me. (I had stayed up late Thursday to make a wool shawl lined with flannel and I'm glad I did as it was more than a little chilly while watching the fighters do there thing.

Friday night [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil, me, my parents, and my brother and sister in law went to the Michael W. Smith "It's A Wonderful Christmas" concert. Michael W. Smith Fangirling )
Saturday we went to the barony of Stromgard's Yule. For the second saturday in a row I got to dance with [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil. That always makes me happy.

Sunday was the Shire of Mountain Edge's business meeting and it only lasted 25 minutes. Then we went and saw my Mother in law so she could take the gifties for her side of the family when she goes done to the Bay area.

Monday night I was at [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's to watch the 6th Sharpe movie. (Shrape's Gold) Let me just say WTF? Why is there a story with Aztec Gold and heathens who faly their sacrifices in the middle of the Napoleonic War? I thought this was a 19th century rommance/adventure not an Indiana Jones movie. We also watched the last instalment to Tin Man and Slings & Arrows episode 3.6 "The Promised End." It was the usual fun to snark with someone who gets all the wierd refferences. (Seriously, "It's what I DO.")

How are all of you?
I went down and saw [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup and on the way Sif (my Chrysler Reliant) started to look like she was over heating but didn't get up into the danger zone (just really close.) I went to go home and I wasn't even out of Dallas when she got up into the danger zone and the lights on my car dimmed and the Power loss light came on. I managed to get to a parking lot and call AAA. This was at 11:20 at night. The tow truck got there at about 12:20 but had to drop off some gas to a girl how had run out about 5 miles away before they could take me home. I got home at about 2AM and I have to get up at 7AM for St. Crispin's but I'm too wound up to sleep.

Jedi and I watched Sharpe's Rifles (bad Regency novel come to life complete with magicall healling cock) and episode of the Dresden Files and the Stargate Atlantis. I also introduced her to the Arrogant Worms. More on them latter but I adore their warped Canadian sense of humor.
We have managed to find a temporary home for the car that was going to get towed. Our mechanic is the collection point for a charity that gives a $500 per car tax credit and he was willing to hold the cars until we can get a replacement title to sign it over to the charity. So that where the two are. We will be buying a newish car from him before mid-June when [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil goes to Idaho for a Penstemon Society meeting so I won't be stuck at home with out transportation for a week. I love our mechanic. That was pretty cool and removed a huge burden off my shoulders.

As per the last month, Friday night found me down at [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's for the Stargates. Loved Bad Guys. Yes Daniel was over the top and out of character(even Michael Shanks says so) but it was fun. I loved Mitchell's reference to the seaweed of season two's Prisoners and Daniel's don't go there. Loved the whole "Say what you mean." "I don't think you want me to do that." "I don't think you want to think what I think." exchange. Loved that it was Teal'c who got the Die Hard reference. ([livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's squeal of delight was nearly defening. Her love of Die Hard is legendary and her love of Teal'c is pretty big too so the combination was almost frightening. There is a reason I enjoy watching SG1 and SGA with her. There is never a small reaction it is either LOVED it or HATED it but never just meh.)
Over all fun.

Now I'm home and up stoking the wood fire kiln. [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil has been stoking all day and went to bed around 10:30pm and banked the fire for me to stoke at 1:30AM, 3:30AM, and probably 5:30AM. We're firing till this afternoon so if you're in the area come by andsay hi. We'll open the kiln after 4pmon Sunday. We're doing the Dundee Sunday market in the morning.

Once You Had Gold )
I went down to [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's obstensably to take pictures of Brutheiel and watch some recorded episodes of tv. Well I forgot the digital camera so no kitten pictures. But I did watch my first episode of Stargate. (Episode 200 for those interested.) I found it fun though I didn't get probably half of it but I will eventually. Then we watched the episode Stargate Atlantis that was very much like the Buffy episode "Normal Again". It was kind of fun and the boys were pretty. Then I forced [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup to watch the "Man in the Fallout Shellter" episode of Bones. (For those keeping track at home that is my favorate episode of the first season.) She laughed in all the right places and sniffed apporpriately, and agreed that sometimes Brennan should keep her mouth shut aboutt somethings.(Like Booth having a kid out of wedlock.)

[livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup made me a DVD of some fanvids and so far all but the "Another Train" Daniel Jackson one have played well on Serenity (we named the laptop after a certain Firefly class ship.) The song for that vid plays and I like the song so it is ok. (oh yeah, [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup, I'll put those photos up this afternoon so they'll be ready when you get home. If you're still up, go to bed.)

I get home at about 1AM and find the husband, [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil, has unloaded Vera Verasdottir (the propane kiln) and he over fired it yesterday but got good reduction and nothing stuck to shelves so all is good. Some colors look off if you know what you're looking at. But we actually got purple, so YAY! My pocerlain looks even glassier and pretty.
