So I won

Jul. 6th, 2008 07:33 am
I went on Ebay and won the auction with those Eureka scripts for probably more than I should but not too bad. (Particularly if I manage to get one of the applications I'm going to use the spec script for.) I am only partially crazy since the money goes to the Mulitiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. But
SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need this item . Not only is it signed and the originalo notes of both Lexa Mike for their episodes but it is that all elusive "Two previously produced scripts for the show you want to spec." I can't find any on the script buying websites and I'm reluctant to leave a comment asking about obtraining such at Eureka Unscripted. Then not only all of that is those two episodes set my spec script up. I only wish I had sold more at the farmer's makert today or wonm the lottery or find the wheel barrow full of hundred dollar bils.
Now that the Van Con is over it is time to get sefrious about my Script Frenzy scripts. I have decieded to do a Bones episode called, "The Fangirl at the Con". So now I need to invent a Fandom for which there is a Con.

I have called the show "Vampires Anonymous" and it ran for nine episodes before being cancelled on released on DVD. I woiuld like to mix elements of Angel the Series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and bonous points for any Stargate elements. This is where you guys come in pitch out your ideas. I won't garuntee I use any of them but it might spark ideas for me. (And since this is the 8th of April I should be on page 24-32 of my scripts. I'm not even a quarter the way down page one so I really need to catch up.)
I support the WGA writter's strike. This video explains everything. Basically out of DVD sales writers get a whopping 4 cents out of every $20 unit. This is the agreement from the 1980s they want to get 8 cents out of every $20 unit. They also get this rate from iTunes and the Amazon.com equivalient. Sites like NBC.com that air the episodes for free but still sell ads the writers get NOTHING because the studios label it promotional perposes. That is wrong.

I hope to be a member of the WGA in the near future and this will affect me. I know that a TV writter, if they are lucky enough to work at all, works maybe 40 weeks out of the year. The other 12 weeks they are on hiatus with no income. These residules from reruns, DVD sales, and airing in other markets provide the income for that time. So I support the writters even if it means my favorite show, Bones, gets a shorter season.

For the Stargate fans on my F-list, don't worry SGA is a Canadian show and unaffected. Those writters are under contracts from the Writters Guild of Canada.
