I miss Due South and the Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Those shows I actually watch when I was in High School and as they aired. I of course miss Buffy, Angel and SG1 but those I cought on DVD (except most of the last season of SG1).
On or daily phone call Miss Jedi Buttercup mentions that it is Andrew Llyod Webber night on American Idol. Now I don't like American Idol and don't watch unless forced by the afore mentioned Miss Buttercup. But I do like Broadway music and Lord Llyod Webber in particular. So I watch. (Well half of it because [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil and I were discussing the evils of the Oregon Potter's Association for the first half. More on that latter.) I take the computer upstairs with me (where we have the TV with the antanea) and proceed to watch the preformances I missed on YouTube. I think I must download that version of "Think of Me." *headdesk*
Some of you know about my Love for Shakespeare. And others know of my love of Paul Gross. Now imagine a TV show that combines the two and you have a show that makes Maeve insanely happy. Add in the behind the scenes machinations of a professional theatre festival and you have hit Maeve Nirvana. (This may replace Stargate at the top TV spot) Unfortunantely there are only six episodes per season and so far only three seasons of this Canadian show. (How much do I love netflix for bringing me this show? Words cannot express).

Paul Gross plays Goeffery Tennant, one time star of the New Burbage Shakespeare festival who went nuts on stage durring his performance of Hamlet. Now his mentor Oliver Welles has died and Geoffery is hired to take his place as New Burbage's Artistic Director, only he is bing haunted by Oliver's ghost. Geoffery's ex girlfriend (Played by Gross's real life wife Martha Burns) is playing Getrude in the production of Hamlet that Oliver was in the middle of directing. The star of Hamlet is an American movie star. Much wackiness ensuses as Geoffery tries to be "Mentally prepared at this time" to direct the flagship production of Hamlet. (Did I mention he initally gets his arch artistic enemy to direct and they duel with swords at the ex-girlfriends place. A duel complete with seconds.)
Now for pic spam.

Insane Paul Gross Pic Spam )

ETA- for fans of Gross's Constable Benton Fraiser be advised this is a different character who is mentally unhinged. The entire show is rather fond of the F-word amoung other cuss words.
