So I'm sick and spent the night on the couch so Nate wouldn't catch it and I needed something in the DVD player so I put in SG1 Season 9 disc 1 (Seasons 9&10 have a play all so they last about 3hours before I'd wake up.) anyway between the dosing, and the hot jello drinking and the kitten purring (BTW we got a fourth cat around Thanksgiving. She was 12 weeks old then so is now about 18 weeks.) on me,I was reminded that while I've left the more active portions of the fandom, I still love the show. That is all.

So Labor Day weekend was Dragon Con and there was this Stargate panel. And the subject of Furries came up. Apperently Christopher Judge didn't know what those are. The education of Christopher Judge is here.

The Answer- Daniel Jackson.
No really. According to the SG1 episode "1969" Daniel was 4 and half in 1969 so that makes his birth year 1965. And according to the SG1 episode "Forever in a Day" his birthday is July 8. So today the character is 42 or in other worda the Ultimate answer.
So in honor of this auspicious occassion I'll barrow a page from
sg_fignewton and request everyone link their favorite Daniel centric fic, vids, artwork, icons, and such like. Or just start a discussion here on some aspect of everyone's favorite Archeologist. All things Daniel are welcome today.
(Today is also my Dad's 59th birthday. Just FYI.)

So about the cars and SG1 fangirling
May. 19th, 2007 03:12 amWe have managed to find a temporary home for the car that was going to get towed. Our mechanic is the collection point for a charity that gives a $500 per car tax credit and he was willing to hold the cars until we can get a replacement title to sign it over to the charity. So that where the two are. We will be buying a newish car from him before mid-June when
earcmacfithil goes to Idaho for a Penstemon Society meeting so I won't be stuck at home with out transportation for a week. I love our mechanic. That was pretty cool and removed a huge burden off my shoulders.
As per the last month, Friday night found me down at
jedibuttercup's for the Stargates. Loved Bad Guys. Yes Daniel was over the top and out of character(even Michael Shanks says so) but it was fun. I loved Mitchell's reference to the seaweed of season two's Prisoners and Daniel's don't go there. Loved the whole "Say what you mean." "I don't think you want me to do that." "I don't think you want to think what I think." exchange. Loved that it was Teal'c who got the Die Hard reference. (
jedibuttercup's squeal of delight was nearly defening. Her love of Die Hard is legendary and her love of Teal'c is pretty big too so the combination was almost frightening. There is a reason I enjoy watching SG1 and SGA with her. There is never a small reaction it is either LOVED it or HATED it but never just meh.)
Over all fun.
Now I'm home and up stoking the wood fire kiln.
earcmacfithil has been stoking all day and went to bed around 10:30pm and banked the fire for me to stoke at 1:30AM, 3:30AM, and probably 5:30AM. We're firing till this afternoon so if you're in the area come by andsay hi. We'll open the kiln after 4pmon Sunday. We're doing the Dundee Sunday market in the morning.

Caveman vs. Astronaut
Nov. 28th, 2006 10:50 pmSince
earcmacfithil and I saw the Angel episode "A Hole in the World" last December we have been debating the "If a caveman and an astronaut got into a fight who would win?" He took the side of Angel and the Astronauts and I the side of Spike and the Cavemen. Well tonight I solved the riddle. They are the same particulairly in the case of Captain Samantha Carter, Colonel Jack O'Neill, and Dr. Daniel Jackson in an episode of Stargate SG1 called "The Broca Devide". SG1 travels in space therefor they are astronauts and in that episode they became cavepeople so the Cavemen and Astronauts are one and the same. End of debate.
Now if any one can tell what the frell "If you immediately know the candlelight is fire then the meal was cooked a long time ago." actually means, I'd be greatful.

I went down to
jedibuttercup's last night (in the wind and rain. It was raining so much to quote
jedibuttercup, from her fic Moonfall, "the water falling from the sky-- which was more lions and wolves at this stage than anything as prosaic as cats and dogs".)
She had down loaded some stuff for me and backed it up to CD rom for me. (She has a faster connection.)
( Stargate SG1 fangirling )
Also for some unknown reason I'm feeling extra bouncy tonight. I can't stop bouncing and giggling. I shouldn't be since
earcmacfithil is leaving tomarrow afternoon to go camping with friends in the mountains above Reno, NV. He and at least one other guy is flying from PDX to Reno wheere they'll meet up with the others. This is a bachelor party for
earcmacfithil's best friend from high school. Why anyone would want to camp in the snow, I have no idea. I'm going to be alone with the cats till late Sunday night. I'm not looking forward to it.

So for any one who cares,
Oct. 26th, 2006 02:48 pmI managed to finnish Stargate SG1 season 9 last night. For those of you keeping track that maeans I've watched the entire SG1 saga on DVD in just a few days over one month. I'm starting over to watch for nuances because the first time was just to get through the story. I am a deeply disturbed woman because as I type this I'm downloading episode 10.1 from iTunes because the last episode of season 9 was a cliff hanger and I can't leave it there.
Stargate Daniel Jackson Score Card
Oct. 25th, 2006 05:24 amSo I am on episode 9.7 Ex Deus Machina. I love The Daniel/Vala relationship. They amuse me greatly. So greatly that I was laughing so hard when Vala returned in 9.1 Avalon that I slamed my nose into the freezer. Stargate is hazzzardous to my health.=)

Stargate Score Card
Oct. 11th, 2006 04:23 amI've been battling a cold the ast couple of days so I haven't been on line much lately. I have however figured out that I could watch Stargate DVD's in bed with the hubby while he is sleeping if I use the head phones. (This comes on the heels of watching Stargate out side while loading the kiln or firing the kiln. So obviously I have a serious Stargate Addiction.)

earcmacfithil is in bed asleep, you dear Flist get to read about it.
