It started thursday when [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil and I had dinner with my grandparents. Always an interesting time.

Friday is [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil's day off (he works 4 ten hour days) so he went to the SCA demo with me. (I had stayed up late Thursday to make a wool shawl lined with flannel and I'm glad I did as it was more than a little chilly while watching the fighters do there thing.

Friday night [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil, me, my parents, and my brother and sister in law went to the Michael W. Smith "It's A Wonderful Christmas" concert. (I love Smitty. Have since Jr. High and the Go West Young Man album.) There was a 65 piece orchestra so that and the fact it was in a church made it this wierd thing in between a rock concert and a symphony preformance. (Seriously when he sings "Friends" at a concert how do you not stand and sway with everyone around you while singing along? I tried and my mom "shushed" me. She's been to just as many Smitty concetrts as I and has participated in the "Friends" singalong before.) All in all I was bouncing in my seat- litterally just ask [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil. Love the new album, "It's a Wonderful Christmas". Smitty admitted that the first couple songs were not from a movie but he might have had the music from the movie in his head when he wrote the songs. (He said John Williams is a big musical influence and the songs sound moree than a wee bit like something out of "The Prisoner of Azkabaan")

Saturday we went to the barony of Stromgard's Yule. For the second saturday in a row I got to dance with [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil. That always makes me happy.

Sunday was the Shire of Mountain Edge's business meeting and it only lasted 25 minutes. Then we went and saw my Mother in law so she could take the gifties for her side of the family when she goes done to the Bay area.

Monday night I was at [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's to watch the 6th Sharpe movie. (Shrape's Gold) Let me just say WTF? Why is there a story with Aztec Gold and heathens who faly their sacrifices in the middle of the Napoleonic War? I thought this was a 19th century rommance/adventure not an Indiana Jones movie. We also watched the last instalment to Tin Man and Slings & Arrows episode 3.6 "The Promised End." It was the usual fun to snark with someone who gets all the wierd refferences. (Seriously, "It's what I DO.")

How are all of you?

Cool. It was a lot of fun. If you don't already have it the new Christmas CD has lots of really pretty music.

Aww...Ok, I'm a tad bit (read: HUGELY) jealous that you got to see Micheal W. Smith, but glad you had a great time. It was funny - I was in the Portland area on Friday and happened to hear on the radio on my way up that he was doing a concert in Tualatin - I DROVE RIGHT BY THERE!!! :-( Ah well, didn't have a ticket so I don't suppose it would have done any good to stop - ha! Some other time, perhaps.

Anyway, glad you had fun!

There may have been a few tickets left at the door but if there were it was probably less than a dozen because the place was packed.

Next time I hear of a Smitty concert I'll let you know. (Mom got the tickets in September so I knew for awhile that the concert was happening.)
