Summary: Buffy and Willow venture to Canada to find a new Slayer.

Buffy couldn't believe that she let Willow talk her into seeing this play. Not that she hated the theatre or Shakespeare in particular but really "Midsummer Night's Dream"? They should be tracking down the new Slayer. That was the reason they were in Canada. They had just been to New Brunswick and found a Slayer, whom the sent to Cleveland for training. Now they were in New Burbage, Ontario to find another.

Willow insisted they see they play while they were there. Besides, she said, the Slayer was supposed to be in the company because the little locator dot had been in the theatre where the sign said rehearsals were in progress when Buffy and Willow arrived. It was opening night and why ruin that with the news of being a Slayer. Willow said it was probably the young lady's dream and why mess that up with duty to the world? Buffy agreed.

"That was a good production of the Dream," Willow said when the show was over.

"How can you say that? I couldn't hear Titania when she had her back to the audience." Buffy complained.

"I didn't say great but good. It was very pretty and predictable." Willow explained as they found their way downstairs to find the Slayer.

The red headed Puck walked by arm in arm with one of the Fairies. From the way they were conversing and the tone the red head was using she seemed to be trying help the younger woman but was managing to be condescending.

When they had passed, Buffy looked at Willow and laughed. "What a witch!" Willow exclaimed.

"Willow! That's an insult to your fellow Wiccas." Buffy teased.

"You're right. I meant to say she was a Bitch with a capital B." Willow returned. "I certainly hope she's not the one we are looking for."

"I'll second that," Buffy agreed. "So let's go find somewhere where you can do another locator spell and find her."

"Sure. In here, " Willow said leading them into and empty dressing room.

That was cute! :-) So have you decided who the slayer is? I'm thinking not the redhead because of what happens to her in a later episode.

It's one of the ladies in the chorus that we never see again. The Slayer is not important.=)

I must point this out to my friend Gill, she is a Slings and Arrows fan. I have to admit to not having seen it, but stil enjoyed the ficlet.

Thanks. I'm a Shakespeare freak so a show a bout a Shakespeare company is my kind of crack. (I came back from Canada with 2 out of 3 seasons on DVD.)

Here via curiouswombat - this was fun! Please, no, it can't be the red-head! I suppose Kate might really be going to Cleveland, not with Jack?

I adore S&A, which several of my flist raved about to the degree that I bought the DVDs from the States - am currently waiting for S3. I think we need to see Geoffrey as a reluctant Watcher though.

I have only seen one other Buffyverse/S&A crossover - by executrix, I think, though I can no longer find it. There should be more! (Ellen hits on Giles? Geoffrey/Faith? C'mon, you know it would be good...)

Thank you. I'm waiting for season 3 to be released too. In my mind the Slayer was niether but some anomyous girl in the company that we saw on stage in the first episode but never saw again.

But those other ideas would be so cool. I might get around to them one of these days.=)
