An "Asspicious" Occaision

As of this evening, I will have been a Browncoat for a full year now. In honor of that I will jump on the Character Love Meme bandwagon. Name a character from Firefly and I will tell you why I love them. (Including minor characters like Saffron and Nandi.)

I love Mal because well besides, the physical apperance- which is as fine as anything out there, he is a good man- solid and true to his family. Even if it is his created family that he deneys making. He is loyal and will fight for what he believes to be right. He might be a Space pirate but he won't profit off inocent's pain as shown in Train Job. Once he found out that what the job was stealing medicine he returned it.

I love River because she is whimsical in the brainpan. I like that about her. I also like the way that she can read people's minds. I like that she tries get Simon to have a life of his own. At the end of the series, River has regained some of her lost senses and is almost normal and by the end on the Big Damn Movie she is even further on the path. Her brain works in mysterious ways but in genious ways. I subscribe to the theory that River is the last of the Slayer line.

I love Inara because she is graceful and compossed and beautiful. (All things I rarely feel like I am.) She does her job- a job she seems to enjoy- regardless of what others say about her. She has a kind and giving heart.

I love Kaylee because who wouldn't love her? She is so bubblely and happy but not in an annoying sort of way. She says what she wants with out being a butthead about it and everyone thinks it is cute. She is just the glue that holds the crew togeather. She is also kind and caring.

I love that Wash knew his wife was capable of handleing herself in any situation but worried for her any way. I love the fact that he loved the way she would take charge and not be threatened by it. I also love his wacky sense of humor and the way he got calm when the flying got crazy. I was saddened when he died.

i think one of the other reasons i loved wash is because i had a crush on someone who looked and acted like him. redhead, tall, and goofy. *sigh* i miss jeremy. he was one that got away.

i guess this is what they call a love-hate relationship. i love Joss for creating the characters, and i hate him for killing them off, ending any chance for it to continue, unless they pick up where the series left off, not the movie.
