Dear Santa,
I hope this isn't too late to help you. Let me say thanks for writing for me. I don't really care weather I get ship or gen fic or what raiting it ultimately ends up being. There are a few things I don't like reading- slash of any kind, partner betrayal or non con. Otherwise I'm pretty easy going. Whump the characters, kill them and bring them back fine by me. Angst away or just fluffy plotless goodness works too. All I want is for them to stay in character.
Thank You,
Maeve

Randomish question, but don't most fic exchange sign-ups already have places for requests, do not wants, and will not writes? All the ones I've seen do - typically: 3 things you want, 3 you don't want, and 3 you won't write, plus maybe a bonus request or two - and whoever has been matched to write for you would have all this information already.

So... why would the second request be necessary? Is the Yuletide fic exchange just that poorly organized?

It is so huge that really you chose one of the 1000 odd fandoms and caracters in the fandom you want from a menu and give a brief sugestion for a request but otherwise you write a Dear Santa. (Something like 1200 people are participating so they use a computer algorythm to match requests with what people have offered to write. No room for details in the matching system.) At least that is the way I understand it.
