Have you considered opening up an Ebay or other online store? While there's something to be said for impulse purchases at a craft fair/market, I think most people tend to pick up smaller items unless they've *planned* to go out and buy a piece of artwork or a sculpture or a vase.
Also, whether you get your online store up, you should make business cards and have a stack of them at your booth. I know I always pick up cards from crafters I'm interested in so that I can order from them later. Sometimes I do order later on, sometimes I save it for later or pass it on to someone who's looking for that sort of item.
Oh we have business cards and a few got taken. The thing is I have small pieces that start at $5 and up. The issuse is that we did this market last year and aveaged at least $60 a Sunday of sales which while not much but better than nothing. And it got pieces out of the house which is becoming an increasing concern.
How frustrating! I'll have you know the little rust-colored bitty pot that came to live with me is currently sitting right here on my desk holding some paper clips. I smile every time I see it (and it's totally geeked out brother who is still at home). :D
That is what I enjoy most hear or seeing that my pottery is loved where ever it ends up. I'm so pleased you love them. But yes it is frustrating when we keep making more pottery and can't sell as fast as we make it.
Beaverton has a Farmers Market that we have gone to once in a while -- there may be other options too. Personally I like handling things like that rather than buying them online.
We love all the stuff we have from you guys too :) Hroswitha
The Beaverton Farmer's Market doe not allow non agriculture products into the market except once a year when Dragon's Mist does "A Medieval Day at the Market" which we will definitely be doing again this year.
Tyhat's what I like to hear- that people who have my pottery enjoy it.=)
