Crazy Day

So last night [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil and I watched Swarmed (it's a crazy B movie about killer yellowjackets) and laughed our asses off. I'm sure it was meant to be scarry but in the mood we wee in it was just funny.

Today we met my Gandparents and a Grand Uncle at the cemetary in town for our annual vist to the great grandparents and another grand uncle's graves (these three have been dead for years and weren't part of the recent lossses). I have now no wish to go to another memorial funeral or cemetary until next year's annual visit to those already dead at this time.=)

So as per usual after the cemetary the five of us went to lunch. On the way out I spot a poster for a local high school's production of the Broadway musical version of Little Women. Grandma and I were discussing it and the fact that tonight was the last preformance. Just then [livejournal.com profile] earcmacfithil walked upand I asked if he wanted to go. The wierd thing was he didn't even pause before saying sure (another reason I love that man). So we went. It was fun. The theatre they used was actually the one at the college we went to and as I have a theatre degree it was sort of like coming home to see aplay at Wood-Mar.

Little Women, the book

I loved the book, and read a few of Alcott's other ones Way Back Then. They appeared to have vanished from the radar for quite some time (makes me feel old, or that the library in the town I grew up in was way better than I thought) -- but I found the unabridged version in paperback a couple years ago and I did recently see a couple others make a comeback at Borders.

I'm one of Those Types that once I read the book I don't want a movie spoiling my image of it.

Oddness: When I was a kid I knew a family that named their kids Jo and Beth (their last name was March) -- Beth died in a car accident when she was fairly young, maybe preteen or just barely teen.

I adore the book too and love pretty much every incarnation of movie or play I see based on it. The movie done in the 90's with Wynona Ryder and Christian Bale is one of my favortes.

That is creepy with the March family you knew.

Sounds like a pretty good day. Hope the performance was good :)

Swarmed is hilarious, even if they didn't intend it to be. That "I...blew it to kingdom come!" line and the way it was delivered always gets me.
