More Vacation fun
Aug. 14th, 2007 11:22 amGreetings from Whistler.
* if you ever take 99 from Kamloops to Whistler be warned there is a conspiricy between the Canadian Civil Engineers, the tow truck drivers, and the auto repare industry. That particular highway is fond of 11% down grades with the occaisional 13% and 15% thrown in for fun. Not only that they are fond of curves particularly at the steepest parts of the down grads. Fortunantly Sif had no problem but I have no idea how semis or bus handle that road.
*Whistler is a cool town in the middle of Olympic frensy (Pictures are forth coming.)
*Yesterday
earcmacfithil and I took a white water raft trip down the Elaho river (Pictures of that too)
*Sunday we were walking down town Whistler and I was wearing shoes I hadn't really broken in and in about two hours got blisters on the back of both heels. Add this to the ripped toenail I discovered Saturday morning, the fall Saturday, and the sore muscles from rafting So far the Vacation 4 Maeve 1 (That's because the toe and sknined elbow aren't really hurting unless pressed hard.)
*In the bus on the way to the put in point, we saw an adolescent bear.
*Canadian road signs are amusing There's "Please! Avoid Engine breaking in urban areas" "Thank you resume speed" and my personal favorite "Trafic calmed area" (That last has a cute picture with it. When the photos are uploaded I will share it.)
*In a bit we head to Vancouver for the rest of the week.
I hope you all are having fun. I know I am despite the extreme clutziness.
