I hate canines.

I really do. (puppies are cute from a distance and in pictures and I appriciate search and rescue dogs, police dogs, and dogs for the disabled but other wise no canines around me.) I will also admit that I'm affraid of them. Let one come barking within 4 feet of me and I get the heart pounding adenline pumping fight or flight fear. I start looking for someone or something to hide behind while yelping. Not very cool in a 29 year old but it happens.

So what brought this on? You ask as I am inside my house safe from the savage canine beasties. Well this one dog (and maybe a buddy) has been barking for somewhere around an hour. He will occaisionally shut up for a bout a minute but keeps starting up again. Did I mention it is 12:15 AM as I type this.

ETA: It is now 1:15AM and the dog is still barking with some small breaks. What is going on that the owners don't go out to see why their dog is barking so much?

Non alcoholic I'm a fan of Dr. Pepper (Both regular and cherry vanilla verities), Cherry Coke, and Vanilla Coke.
Alcoholic- add vanilla spiced rum to any of the above and pina colodas. (Basically I'm a spiced rum kind of gal.)

2. Name one character from a show you're a fan of--one that you don't
like. Why don't you like that character?
There really aren't characters you are suppossed to like on any of the shows that I dislike. I'm not a big fan of Dr. Camille Saroyan on Bones but that is just her character was a new introduction in the second season and they set her up as being alot more by the book in running the lab. I kind of like her it's just that she is last on the characters I like list for Bones.

3. Describe the most awesome piece of clothing you own.
Um for modern clothing I don't think I really have an awesome piece of clothing although I did actually get some new clothes recently that manage to look, cute and trendy with out making me look too old for the style or as fat as a beached whale. (I hate trying to find clothes as a size 18-20 29 year old. Finding clothes that size that aren't made for women of my Mother's generation is difficult.)

For SCA stuff, I'd have to say the black silk version of this dress http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k107/MaeveBran/SCA/MeaveScout.jpg. (Both have the silver silk lined sleeves.) with either the silver or green silk undergown. (Notice a theme? I love silk.)

4. What's the best compliment someone in fandom has ever paid you?
I don't know. I get a lot of I like this stories but not much more so I don't think I've really been paid many compliments. (This not a plea for more to be left in my journal just stating a fact.)

5. Is there one thing you would change about the world at large, if

had the power? What would that be?
Right now I'd decrease the popularity of slash. As a person who is a Daniel Jackson fan I'm sick and tired of finding that a good three quarters written about him is Jack/Daniel. Drives mebonkers. (No offense to the Jack/Daniel fans on the flist but it is hard to find new stories that are Daniel/any woman sometimes.)

Anyone who really cares about my views on slash is welcome to ask just be prepared for it to be negative. I won't put it here unless asked to not offend the slashers on my flist. You are on my flist because I'm interested in you from one fandom activity or another and have agreed to disagree about slash so don't take the anti slash statement as an anti you statement. I love my flist.=)
