In memoradum of KaraKat.
Jan. 11th, 2012 11:44 pmKara Kat, Madame Gentle Paws went to that great catnip field in the sky today. We hadn't seen her in about 48 hours so when Nate got home from work he went looking and found her, curled up in the computer room. About five minutes later the Vet called, since we had made an appointment for her, to confirm tomorow's appointment. (Nate switched the cat to go to the vet since Phoebe needs to go too.) Anyway the clouder is down to three now from the high of four.
KaraKat came into our lives about ten years ago at the age of two and a half. She was to be the companion cat to Moonshine but they never really got along and he passed into that catnip field about six months later. KaraKat was a rescue from a friend who had a roomate moving out who couldn't take the cat and since KaraKat didn't get along with their other cat she needed to go so we took her in. She was an idependant little thing, except sometimes when you sat down on the couch or at the computer, then she'd make room on your lap regarless of laptops or keyboards. She never really bonded with any of our other cats and enjoyed being outside.
She had been an indoor/outdoor cat for most of her life, though we had started keeping her inside full time in the last year or so because she was getting into fights and was coming home injured. (I don't know who she was fighting with or weather or not she was winning but since she was a seven pound cat it had to be some cat bigger than her.) I guess age 12 or so is a good long life for her kind. She had been losing wieght which is why we were taking her to the vet.
She will be missed.

Date: 2012-01-12 07:46 am (UTC)Mom just had to take Henry to the vet to have a toe removed for cancer in his paw. Not a good year for pets.
