Thanks. I will probably be adding more pictures soon of both my pottery and my husband's. I'm glad you like the pictures. I have some other fan related pieces needing to be fired but as we now have a wood kiln in our yard more will probably be wood fired. (That was then maiden firing wher stuff was "dry" and white. It should have been more tan and or blush to orange.)
Thanks. They were in the maiden firing of the new wood kiln so they didn't get the color I was after but I think they're pretty any way. Other potters would probably either refire them or smash them but not me. (In six and a half years I haven't managed to bring myself to smash many pieces though I have a collection that needs it. Next time I get really mad I will probably find a place in the yard in just throw them down until I have little shards.)
Mmm, yes. Great anger management therapy. Mom always advised me to scream into my pillow, but what fun is that? It just ratchets my blood pressure up worse. Breaking things, though: just find a flat place you can sweep the fragments up from afterward. (Grass is a bad idea).
Except that earcmacfithil has a place to put the shards because he wants to use it as drainage for the rock garden, So we have a shard pile in the yard. Wierd man.
Thank you. The Roman piece if you were to look on its side rather then the inside like the picture shows also has some raised design on it. Not as fime as true Samian Ware( because that was made with a carved mold and I applied slip) but it is there.
