Pursuiant to Last Night's research I have now documented Robin as a surname under the heading Robins Richard Robin 1248. So the name Batman Robin is a perfectly acceptable name for the SCA. I am ammused.
When you see this, post another CSI/CSI: Miami/CSI: NY quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.
Catherine: I think I'm having Hunter Thompson's flashbacks. (Fur in Loathing 4.5 CSI)

Gil Grissom: So, let’s see. You surf, you scuba dive. You’re into latex, you like fashion models and Marilyn Manson. And you also have a coin collection?
Greg Sanders: Weird, ha?
Gil Grissom: Well, I race cockroaches!

Date: 2008-09-27 08:05 am (UTC)Someone must have been pulling your leg as there are 23 purpure single cats and 8 pairs of purpure cats and one group of three cats. The most recent ones were registered in 2006. The problem may have been Windmasters' Hill, Barony of (January 1976 via the East) (Fieldless) a Winged cat passant extended purpure. By today's rules I believe it clear because of the fieldlessness and the posture. Always ask a second opinion if you think what you have been told is rubbish.
I also beleive that the name Lorne Green(e) would be protected these days not Greenleaf or anything that started with Green-.

Date: 2008-09-27 08:29 am (UTC)In 1983, you only needed 1/2 point of difference between devices so couchant would have just barely squeeked through - since only badges can be passed as 'fieldless' I had a good chance. Just didn't want to fight with the mess right then.
I don't do nearly as much heraldry as I used to. Heck, I don't do nearly the SCA I used to. But I do date myself by saying that my device was passed on a lozenge rather than a shield as was the requirement for a woman's device back then.

Heralds aren't evil, we just have to spend so much time with the books that we occaisionally have todocument something fun to amuse ourselves.=)

Date: 2008-09-28 12:51 am (UTC)ALL heralds are evil. Ciaran taught me that ALL heralds are evil. *grin* They fill your brain with twisted, punny thoughts until you can't have a civilized conversation with ANYBODY ELSE on the planet.
*laughs maniacally*
Heralds are the "Sparks" of the SCA (Ob"GirlGenius" reference).
Vesta, whom a herald dubbed "with the Besta Chesta"
