Ouchie ouch ouch
Aug. 20th, 2008 10:44 pmI should have known better than to wear high heels tonight. I haven't worn heels in two to three years and with my ankle still in the last phases of mending, I felt like I was going to retwist it any second. The toes pinched. The heel pinched and I felt every variation in the sidewalk. It hurt. But I had no more appropriate shoes to wear with the black wool slacks and dark purple angora sweater. I had to wear dark clothes as it was Ciaran's funeral. It was a lovely Episcopal service. Fully half the crowd or more was SCA. It was strange to see them (and in some cases hard to recognize) out of Medieval garb.

But it was a good service.
Twenty years in the Episcopal church Back in My Past made it feel very familiar.

Date: 2008-08-23 05:43 am (UTC)I'd been wearing flat, comfy but mostly dressy sandals to work all summer and so I wore my black ones; but since it had rained earlier I wore my mid sized heels / closed shoes to work and my feet hurt from that. Right before we left for the memorial I had a whopper of a foot cramp.
Which is making me dread fall. Will have to find better shoes for work, or something.
But it was a good service.
